Training, coaching, consultancy, and wellbeing for equity, diversity and inclusion.

Hello, I’m Josetta (pronouns they/them) and my autistic superpower is in the research and promotion of equalities and wellbeing. I pride myself on delivering high quality online training, consultancy and wellbeing sessions. Social justice runs through all I do, driven by my lived experience of diverse identities such as being Black, queer, non-binary, having autism and ADHD and my years in community support. My interest in mental health and wellbeing comes from managing my own mental health difficulties and realising how much yoga, mindfulness and a healthy lifestyle help. Other things that make me happy include sunshine, friends, living in Brighton, the beautiful Sussex Downs, the sea, walking, nerding out on books and lifelong learning.

In 2020, I returned to academia to study for a master’s degree in mindfulness, neuroscience and psychology. Now, I am realising my dreams by starting a PhD on Mindflness and  Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)  at Aberdeen University. It’s been an exciting, fulfilling journey involving 30 years working in the mental health charity sector supporting marginalised groups, promoting equalities and delivering training. I have also taught yoga and meditation since 2008, to community groups, private students, studios, and NHS mental health wards.

Through working with my training, consultancy, coaching and wellbeing clients, I have found the perfect way to share what I have learned and promote EDI and wellbeing. I will bring my expertise, skills and life experiences to your sessions to develop your skills and build resilience. I can also use my support skills and caring nature to sit in on your online groups or training that you deliver to provide wellbeing support to participants, for example, in a one-to-one breakout room.

Access is important to me, as an inclusivity principle and as someone with lived experience and training in disabilities and access, so I aim to accommodate your access requirements, just let me know what you and your participants need.

I work with all types of clients from grassroots groups to global corporations and one-to-one individuals delivering bespoke packages. My charity work includes many years of senior and middle management as well as front line support work, so I understand workplace challenges and dynamics from all perspectives.

What people say about me

Selection from EDI trainings:

Josetta is an absolute joy to work with in designing and delivering high quality training! They create open, safe and respectful spaces where delegates feel heard and understood. They’re able to skilfully facilitate conversations around a range of challenging topics in a way that supports everyone to both contribute and listen. Their approach to EDI is to embed it into all that they do and bring their full selves to the work which adds authenticity and supports delegates to talk about themselves and their experiences. – Sarah Campbell, Stonewall

Time was managed well – spent a good time on the important stuff; really like the interactivity of adding a quiz as it helps break up the monotony of all the other online trainings I have attended over the past year

I have a greater understanding of why people in the LGBTI community are more affected by mental health issues, and a greater appreciation of the barriers and stigma they face when trying to seek support and treatment. I will be able to use this knowledge to ensure the support we offer as a team of mental health allies does everything possible to overcome these barriers and previous traumas to provide a safe and supportive space for people.

Very knowledgeable and engaging presenter. Josetta was very personable, and they were very compassionate and kind when answering questions through the session.

Experienced trainer who has lived life in the LGBT community.

Taught me how to unwind and the importance of self-care.

Personable, professional and relatable all the way through

Clear, made everyone welcome, knew their stuff!

Excellent knowledge and very personable / interesting

Selection from Wellbeing in Facilitation Development Programme Delivered 2022:

Absolutely wonderfully facilitated by Josetta. I feel like sensitive, difficult but incredibly important topics were explored at the right place, with deep understanding. It was the most fruitful learning space I’ve attended in years.

Josetta is a fantastic facilitator who is able to impart their vast understanding on a wide range of topics with ease. Group members were made to feel supported while we tackled complex topics around boundaries, wellbeing, and neurodivergence (among others!). This course has opened several doors for further exploration and Josetta has provided several further resources, so the learning doesn’t end with the programme. 10/10

Josetta is a brilliant facilitator who helped us navigate various challenges that our team were facing. The pace of the workshops was fantastic, and I feel well equipped to respond to these situations in future.

I really enjoyed the session on self-compassion. I struggle with this often when things don’t go to plan but found the tools really helpful in reframing that narrative.

it has been a really helpful space for reflection. I can already feel myself developing tools to manage my wellbeing both inside and out of the workplace and can tell that they will have long term benefits.

I like Josetta’s different and fresh approach to managing conflict and difficult situations. More kindness and compassion is what we need in the world right now.

Thank you for creating a safe space!

Josetta came in to help at a time when many of our staff had been struggling with the impact of 2 years of COVID-19. The wellbeing session they provided included techniques which made the whole team feel supported.

Gendered Intelligence contracted Josetta to deliver monthly meditation sessions online, during the pandemic. At a time when we all felt stressed and confused by what was going on outside, it was a great opportunity to turn inward and find a moment of calm. Josetta’s practice was an extremely welcome aid in mental health and wellbeing. I can recommend their professionalism and expertise in a heartbeat.
